Dr. Meng Gao has been awarded the 2021 “Tsinghua University-Inspur Group Computational Geoscience Young Talent Award,” a very competitive and well-recognized award in the field of Earth System Science. The Department of Geography would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Gao for his success and achievement.

This award was jointly established by the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory for Earth System Modeling at Tsinghua University and a leading cloud computing and big data service provider in China, Inspur Group. It aims to foster interdisciplinary research in Earth system modelling and high-performance computing in China and to cultivate emerging talent for the development of Earth System models. Dr. Gao is one of only five selected for the 2021 award. Selection criteria include academic innovation, contribution to the discipline, and the degree of integration between research outputs and computational geoscience.
