On November 8th, 2025, YAO Lin, a PhD student under the supervision of department academic member Prof. Lyu Xiaopu, received the Best Poster Award at 12th Annual National Conference on the Prevention and Control of Volatile Organic Compounds, the 5th International Symposium on Catalytic Science and Technology in Sustainable Energy and Environment (5th EECAT), and the International Expert Symposium on Volatile Organic Compounds 2025 (referred to as 2025 Joint VOCs Conference) held in Guangzhou during November 6th to November 8th, 2025.
The poster, titled “Disparity Evolution of Population-weighted PM2.5 in China from 2000 to 2023: Trends and Underlying Causes,” presents Yao Lin’s attempt to probe into China’s air pollution disparity and explore the causes of the changing trends. The study highlights the crucial role of Xinjiang and North China Plain in shaping the national-scale disparity in PM2.5 pollution burdens.
Congratulations to YAO Lin on this achievement, which reflects the dedication and excellence of the Department of Geography in advancing air pollution research.
