The Department of Geography successfully hosted the Distinguished Geography Seminar on 27 November 2025, featuring Professor HE Canfei, Dean of the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences at Peking University. Professor He, a leading scholar in urban and regional development, delivered an insightful presentation titled “Regional Economic Resilience in China.” Drawing on evolutionary economic geography, Professor He explored how Chinese cities navigated two major external shocks—the global financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic—while highlighting key factors influencing regional resilience.
The seminar attracted a strong turnout, including faculty and students who engaged enthusiastically in the post-talk discussion. Many participants raised thought-provoking questions, fostering an interactive academic exchange with Professor He.
